NAME:Don Ward
I am seeking help on researching the Ward family tree, specifically, the
predecessors of William Henry Harrison WARD, of Carroll or Trimble
County, Ky. His parents were Eber Ward and Nancy Orison Ward. William's
wife was Margaret McQuithy, daughter of Nancy and Caleb McQuithy who
migrated to Vevay, Ind., from Arkansas. Caleb died on the way from
yellow fever. William fought for the North in the Civil War as a member
of the Indiana Calvalry. When he returned from war, he married Margaret
in Vevay on 21 Feb. 1867. I have his descendants but not his

My husband and I are researching his MARTIN ancestors who came from Germany and are found on the 1860 Trimble Co. census. Parents were John G. and Marie Justine MARTIN b. 1 Dec 1800 and 4 Jul 1804 respectively. Their children were: Charles Agustus b. 26 Apr. 1830 in Germany; John Theodore b. ca. 1841 Pa; Albert b. ca. 1844, Pa; Frank b. Mar. 1846 Ky; and Laura b. ca. 1849, Ky. Charles A and family moved to Clinton Co. Mo. in the 1870's. We have been unable to find the family before 1860 but they supposedly came to the U.S. in 1832. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My Trimble County connections are through my husband's maternal great grandparents (from her father's side). Specifically, James Horace ADAMS and Melchisabeth BARNES - ADAMS. He was the son of John L. Adams and Kisiah CASEY-ADAMS. She was the daughter of William BARNES by his first wife Elizabeth BEECH. The ADAMS offspring married PERKINSON, WISE, SIMS, BARNES, ROWLETT, STRATTON and KING. One of the Barnes connections was a granddaughter of N R SUDDETH. The BARNES offspring also married PERKINSON, BARNES, ADAMS, LITTLE, TALBERT and ARNETT.
If anyone has any information on the children of the two ADAMS families or the two families of William BARNES I would like to hear from them. Also, ancestors of John L. ADAMS, Kisiah CASEY, William BARNES and Elizabeth BEECH (her father was Nathan BEECH, mother unknown to me at this point.

10/11/1859. His daughter, Mildred married Harrison N. Hancock, who was

JUST UPDATED! We are looking for family of Louis Samuel LITTLE. Louis was born 29 Oct
1867 in Oldham Co. KY. According to a Jefferson Daily Evening
Newspaper article, Louis died 16 Jul 1887 in an accident near Boyer's
Landing and Bethlehem IN, across the river from Wesport,KY. Louis was
married 29 May 1885 to Ida Belle Morgan. Louis' family was also from KY.
We believe some of the family may have been in Trimble County during the
county reorganizations. According to records, some of the family lived
in Jefferson County
and at least one, Frank Guy LITTLE was born .in Louisville. We believe
his father's name was Samuel LITTLE, who was born in
1811. Another family member was Louis Samuel LITTLE, Sr., born 26 Nov
1867 and died 15 Mar 1897.

NAME:Anna Bertram
George W. DeROSSETT 1841 - 17 May 1915) died in Louisville, KY, but was buried at the IOOF Cemetery in
Bedford, KY. The undertaker was John Maas & Brother. I suspect he was
buried there because his wife, Martha (1840-1903) was buried there before his death. Perhaps he
moved to Louisville after he became elderly. Please contact me if you have any further info on this family. Thank you.

NAME:Joy Mack
I am looking for the graves of Francis BARNES, Shadrack Barnes, and
Benjamin Barnes. They owned property in the Corn Creek area, so their
graves would probably be in a small family plot on a farm somewhere.
Francis was the father of Shadrack and Benjamin. If there are dates on the
stones they would read like this:
Francis b. abt. 1740 (he was born in Ireland, immigrated to Culpeper
Co.VA, then with his sons moved to Trimble County Kentucky-then I think if
may have been Gallatin Co.
Shadrack b. 6 Feb 1764 d. 31 Dec 1844
Benjamin b. 1 Feb 1766 d. 7 Dec 1833 (the year is in question)

John and Jennie(Jane) MELVIN arrived in Pennsylvania from County Down Ireland in 1839 with 6 of 7 children, leaving a son of 4 years behind considering him too young to survive the voyage. They were in Jefferson Co. IN by 1850 and in Oldham and Trimble Co. KY in the 1860 federal census. Does anyone have any information about the circumstances of their deaths or their place of burial? I am a direct descendant through their son William who married Elizabeth Jane PALMER. The 12th of 13 children son Daniel married Edna Garrett in 1906. Their daughter Margaret was my mother. She married Earl Mahoney July 19, 1945. Thank you.

NAME:Barbara Duncan Noblet
My great grandfather was Willis DUNCAN of Trimble Co. He was married to Halle JOHNSON. Their first child (Alva DUNCAN) was born 5 Aug 1892. Willis died 16 Dec 1922. At that time Hallie would have been about 48 years old. I haven't been able to find any records that give information about Hallie. I find no record of her as Hallie DUNCAN in the SSDI or the KY Death Index. My aunts and uncles know nothing about her. Maybe she remarried after Willis' death. Can anyone help?

1850 Federal Census shows Zachariah TALBOTT, Wife Eliza Jane (HALL)and family enumerated along side Absalom TALBOTT, Wife: Polly (SNELLING), living in Trimble County, KY. I am looking for any relatives for either of these two TALBOTT families. 1860 has Zach and Eliza living in Lafayette Co, Lexington, MO. Their son born in MO was named Butler MOORE TALBOTT. I believe Eliza Jane Hall's sister Mary married a BUTLER MOORE. Zachariah and Jane were married 14 April 1836 in Fayette Co., KY. others. Richard married Mary Ann Reed in 1845 in Boone Co., KY. The
family moved back and forth from KY to IN. Related surnames are

NAME:Tom Fiske
Samuel PRYOR, IV lived in what is now Trimble County, KY. His family is
also assciated with DUNCAN, FAURE' (FORE, FOREE) and many others. Sam
was born in 1804 and died in 1833. My records show that he was a
sheriff TWICE in Trimble Co., but Trimble wasn'y formed until three
years after he died. How is this possible?
Sam left 5 children. He was 29 when he died and had time to write a
will. It is possible he was shot as a peace officer. Are there any
documents or newspapers of the area from the 1833 period?
Sam's widow, Ann Nancy Marshall Samuell, married a man named Barbour
and had even more children.
If anyone has answers or stories about this early period that would
clarify things I would sure appreciate hearing them.

My grandmother was Ida WOOD, born in Trimble Co. on 29 Sept 1888. On her death certificate, her father is listed as Virgil WOOD, also born in Trimble Co. I can find no trace of him. My (3) great grandfather, Isaac GRAY who was born in Philadelphia, Pa. in 1774, was
raised in Fayette and Bath Cos., was in the War of 1812, came back to Bath
Co. where he was a JP for a few years, and then he and Nancy moved to Trimble
Co. and lived out their lives there, Isaac died in 1841, Nancy in 1842.
Would there be a recording of their deaths somewhere.
